Liam Update Continued

I had a few people ask about this picture so I wanted to try and recreate the picture the doctor drew for me. He drew (what looked like) the first one ...except I added Liam in there :) So that's pretty much what's going on inside my belly.

And the second one is what the cord normally/should look like.

The red is the placenta, the blue is the umbilical cord and the black is my uterus.

Liam Update!

We saw Liam on the ultrasound today! Doctor said baby was growing well so far.

Liam at 26 weeks 3-6 days (my due date has changed often):
2lbs 4oz
Heartbeat 152

They did confirm I do have a velamentous cord insertion.  Basically the cord is not going into the center of the placenta like it normally does...it's going in at the side along where the membrane is located. It's not down near the cervix which is good. It's up top. But the cord is going into the membrane and not just the placenta which isn't really good, but they said they will continue to monitor me and I'll have some more ultrasounds. So far though Liam seems to be growing well and doing fine.  One concern from this is that the baby sometimes doesn't get as much nutrients since the cord is going into the membrane.  But the Doctor seemed calm about it all. I feel good about trusting them. He even drew me a picture to explain what was going on. I think the problem can come when I start contracting a lot because it could cause the cord to rupture (knocked loose, become separated). So at this point I have to have a c-section even if I didn't want another one.  Plus Liam is breech...although he does have time to move (if that mattered).

He's a very flexible little guy ...at one point he was looking at us and his knee was right next to his ear...here you can see his foot and it's actually right next to his head:

And here's a scary picture of his face...It looks like he's cheesing ...haha:

Our Weekend

We had a nice visit this past weekend. I'm really glad we all went to see Granddaddy. Landon blew him kisses, waved to him and did all kinds of tricks for him.

Landon also had a lot of fun staying in a hotel.  He enjoyed running up and down the hallways and playing in the room.  When we first got there he did great and took a nice long nap in the bed.  We took his pack-n-play and had planned on him sleeping in there at night.  I have never slept with Landon in the bed.  Never been able to do it.  I worry too much to sleep.  Well after several unsuccessful attempts to put him in his pack-n-play, we decided to let him stay in the bed with us...this resulted in neither me nor Chad getting much sleep at all.  I was finally able to fall asleep for about 2 hours but that was all.  The child moved around constantly.  I'd get kicked and elbowed and grabbed every other minute, it seemed.  But Landon still woke up in a great mood, because he got plenty of sleep :)

Our Hotel Room

When we came home we went over to the park and grilled out and played - the weather was perfect, the company was nice and it really topped off a good weekend.

Landon has started to line up his trucks and it's just pretty darn cute.  He concentrates when he does it and he's so serious about where they go...

And I can't believe I almost forgot to post this video...

Hello! I like Cheese!

my brother took this - too funny! ...

Weekend iPhone Pictures.

We went to visit my Granddaddy this past weekend who is in the hospital and not doing very well. Prayers appreciated. It was about a 2 and half hour drive one way. We had a really nice time with family. I'll update more later but wanted to post my iPhone pictures from the weekend.
