Beach Baby!

We finally have a beach baby!!  We gradually got Landon more comfortable with the beach and before we left today he was running around on the sand chasing the birds laughing and having a good time.  He was never scared of the water...it was the sand he wasn't sure about.  He didn't like getting those feet dirty.  ha.  But after he realized it really wasn't that bad...he wanted to WALK! Here are a few videos I took today...

I will have to try and get a video of him saying Beach.  It's hilarious.  Especially when he says Dada Beach or Mama Beach...it doesn't sound like a pretty word if you know what I mean...haha.

Here are a few Instagram beach pictures...

Big Wawa!

We're at the beach!  aka: Big WaWa!  We had an eventful night last night when we let Landon sleep on an air mattress.  We brought the pack and play and an air mattress for him because we weren't sure which would be best.  He did alright on the air mattress...except the 3 times he fell off and then Chad had to lay with him to get him to go back to sleep.  He sleeps like his mama...when I was little I feel off the bed a lot...once breaking my collar bone and another busting my two front teeth out...Good thing he was only about a few inches off the carpet floor. Currently he's napping in the pack and play...we'll have to see which works out better...

We took him to the beach today and he seemed really excited to go until you actually got there and went to put him down and he would cling to you like a monkey.  I think we are gradually going to have to introduce everything to him.  He liked the ocean as long as someone was holding him and he liked the sand as long as he was able to not sit on it or get too dirty.  I could already tell after being there for just an hour or so that he should hopefully warm up and get more comfortable out there.  He loved to sit in his chair and play...honestly it was pretty nice not having to chase him around everywhere like I thought we would.

Here are a few pictures from today!

Grandmama took Landon to get his haircut this past Thursday. Landon hated it again, but Donna still managed to do a great job.  Hopefully one day he'll enjoy getting his haircut again...it sure makes him look handsome...........and like a big boy!

Liam Update! - 34 Weeks!

I had an interesting check up on Tuesday!  It started off with an ultrasound to check my placenta issues and Liam's growth. Turns out little Liam isn't so little! He's already 5lbs 5oz (88% percentile) and seems to have plenty of hair on his head. He was wiggling all over the place and showing off for the camera :)

After the ultrasound they took me back to get a stress test done to see if I was contracting.  Well, if you've been reading my updates then you know I've been saying that I thought I've been having tons of braxton hicks contractions, which to me are just tightening of the belly (not real painful).  Turns out after looking at the results of the stress test, it showed I was contracting every 3 minutes.  The doctor said everything else looked great though - baby did fine through the contractions, not dilated, fluid levels were good etc.  And he said since everything else looked so good he wasn't going to send me to the hospital right away to get medicine to stop the contractions.  Instead, he wanted me to go home, rest, drink plenty of water and see if they go away.

Well they didn't go away.  So I ended up going back to the doctor on Wednesday for another stress test...which I failed again...so off to the hospital I went...

They hooked me up to an IV and gave me some meds to try and stop the contractions.  I was probably there for about 3 hours.  The medicine did slow them down but they didn't go away completely.  They did release me to go home though but told me I needed to go back to the doctor on Thursday.

Now keep in mind during all of this, we already had a beach trip planned (and paid for) to leave on Friday for a week (today!).  I wasn't sure if they were going to let me go to the beach or much less go back to work!

When I spoke to the doctor on Thursday he said the medicine seemed to be helping and he wanted me to relax and rest for a week AT THE BEACH :) and then come back to see him when I get back and see how I'm feeling and then discuss any restrictions.  He also said that basically since I am on the medicine and it does seem to be helping and I'm not dilated any, then it was okay not to put me on full bed rest right now but to just take it easy.

The only bad thing about the medicine is it gives me pretty bad headaches.  But honestly I'd much rather deal with a headache than be put on bed rest.  I saw a glimpse of how that was over the past few days and it was NOT FUN.  Landon DID NOT understand and all.

So hopefully little Liam will keep on cooking for a while and I'll be able to relax at the beach and get these contractions down then head back to work until his arrival IN AUGUST :)

Oh and I have only gained 1lb since 30 weeks.  Since Liam is growing well the doctor wasn't concerned at all.  I was pleased with that!  I'll have to get a 34 week picture at the beach.  We're on the way right now as I type!! :)

20 Months!!

Landon turned 20 months old today!!  He's talking a lot, basically repeating the last word of every sentence you say.  He looooves Papaw and tells everyone about Papaw when he sees them.  He also likes to tell us when people are at work.  Landon thinks anyone that isn't around him at the moment, is at work...even Haley...haha.

He's still taking one nap a day, wearing 18 month clothes, size 4 diapers during the day and size 5 at night...although he could probably wear 4 at night too.  He's still not eating very well...very picky!  We try to offer him so many different things and he simply won't even try or touch most things on his plate.  I'm sure it's just a stage he's going through... at least I hope.

He likes to throw random tantrums and cry for no reason at all.  That's fun.  haha.  I've found that it helps to just try and distract him with something else when he does this or look him directly in the eyes and ask him what he wants. He usually tries to tell us...we may not always know what he's saying...but he's trying.

I'm beginning to think he may be left handed but I'm still not really sure yet.  When we sat down and colored the other day he kept using his left hand to color ...don't mind the oreo on his face in this picture :)

We got Landon some tools so he can help with building the house :)  I got these for a great deal off kids woot

The Campbells

Look what my sweet husband made!!

Funny.

Baby.

My mom got Landon a baby to see what he'd do with it since little Liam will be here soon. At first he didn't seem very interested in the baby so we just laid it down. Well later on he went up to it and picked up the bottle and started feeding the baby! Although it didn't last long, it was sweet.

we gotta work on the way he holds the baby...

and sometimes he wants to drink from the bottle himself...

but at least he didn't just throw the baby on the floor!

Thomas at Tweetsie!!

This past Sunday we took Landon to see Thomas the Train at Tweetsie!  I was a little concerned with how he might handle all the noise and trains so close to him.  I thought it might scare him but it turns out he was just fine.  He did cling on a little bit tighter when the train came right up to him, but other than that he really seemed to be excited.  We went with a co-worker of mine and her husband and 2 year old son.  Landon enjoyed having another little guy to 'talk' to and point at choo-choo's with.  We got there around 9:30 (after leaving the house around 7am) and stayed until 2:30.  We didn't even make it a minute down the road (literally) before Landon passed out in the car seat :)  Then he slept all the way home.
